Last year, the German authorities registered more than 3000 alleged sabotage files. Numerous cases are to be taken into account by Russian secret services. BND chief Jäger wants more room for manoeuvre against Moscow's hybrid warfare.
Hybrid warfare is supposed to make people insecure and weaken democracies. So far, however, Germany and the EU have not reacted to this with comparable countermeasures. This could soon change.
