Blue Jays-Cubs Has Been Postponed by Rain
The Blue Jays said the finale was moved after heavy rain in Chicago, with the make-up game set for Aug. 6.
Sunday's series finale between the Toronto Blue Jays and Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field was postponed due to inclement weather, with the game rescheduled for Thursday, August 6 at 1:20 p.m.
Chicago and Toronto split the first two games of their weekend series at Wrigley Field, with the Cubs winning Friday's contest 16-2 and the Blue Jays rallying for an 8-6 victory on Saturday.
With 1-to-2 inches of rain in the forecast, the National Weather Service prompted the Cubs to postpone the game approximately two hours before first pitch; tickets remain valid for the August 6 makeup date.
Following the postponement, the Cubs travel to New York to face the New York Mets on Monday, while the Blue Jays return home to Toronto to host the Houston Astros.
Recognizing the potential playoff implications in September, both teams agreed to the August 6 makeup date, which will take place during a mutual off day for both clubs.
