CASPER, Wyo. — The Bureau of Land Management Casper Field Office on Friday announced approval for a new open-pit bentonite mine in Natrona County. The Black Hills Bentonite Mine Project — to be located in northeast Natrona County, approximately 38 miles north of Casper and a mile east of Interstate 25 — is authorized to operate on approximately 227 acres of public land administered by the BLM.
