Blissful Beach property lakeside stairs in slope failure

Planning staff say a geotechnical study is needed after a fourth slope failure and could guide future mitigation for 14 lakeside properties.

A slope collapse behind a Blissful Beach property on Sylvan Lake has raised concerns that other properties could be in danger. The landslide happened on June 23 and sent trees and tonnes of earth sliding down the steep embankment, tearing away part of a lengthy set of stairs to a lakeside dock.
