Bland admitted to the killings and avoided the death penalty after a plea deal that added federal gun and drug charges, prosecutors said.

Solomon's mother, Susan Taliafero, called Bland a "monster," while White's mother, Belinda Vargas, said she would never receive another hug from her son in her lifetime.
The court ordered Bland to pay $12,505 in restitution to the Vermont Center for Crime Victim Services and $700 in court costs alongside the consecutive life sentences.
Vermont State Police Criminal Division Commander Major Ashley Barnes noted the crime's callousness, stating it "left the families of two young men with a grief that will never end.
