BlackRock-Backed Group Commits $5 Billion for Aligned Data Centers After Completing Acquisition
The consortium added $5 billion in growth capital as it seeks to expand Aligned’s AI-ready capacity, the company said.

- AIP—Formed by BlackRock, GIP, MGX, Microsoft, and Nvidia—completed this first deal, as Aligned operates 51 campuses with more than 6.4 gigawatts of capacity globally.
- This acquisition caps a frenzy in digital infrastructure, where firms from KKR to Brookfield have invested heavily, following Australian asset manager Macquarie Asset Management's ownership of Aligned since 2018.
