On 21 July 2025, a case of violation of rules by BJP MLA Golu Shukla and his son Rudraksh Shukla came to light in Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar temple. On the second Monday of Sawan, they forcibly entered the sanctum sanctorum before the Bhasma Aarti. The temple employee tried to stop them but Rudraksh threatened them and tried to enter inside.
