TOWNSVILLE, QUEENSLAND AND FORT MYERS, FLORIDA, JUL 21 – Two men were arrested for arson in separate incidents; one fire hospitalized a woman, and the other involved erratic behavior at a Florida gym, officials said.
- On July 18, Queensland Police arrested Emett David Smart at a Heatley address, found hiding inside a kitchen cupboard, after the July 3 fire that hospitalized a woman.
- With a history of arson, Emett David Smart, convicted arsonist, set a fire in his apartment building two days after eviction proceedings began, reflecting his prior five-year federal prison sentence.
- Surveillance footage captured at Planet Fitness on South Tamiami Trail showed him running naked, crawling into the ceiling, and being found nude inside a tanning bed with K-9 assistance.
- Following his arrest, Henrry Antunez-Avarado faces arson, indecent exposure, criminal mischief, and false identification charges, a Lee County deputy says `I got a fire in the men's locker room`.
- Refused bail, he is due to reappear on September 12 in Townsville Magistrates Court.
