UNLV Defense Stymies North Dakota Behind Porter's Pick-6 in Rebels' 13-7 Win
Nathan Hayes threw three interceptions, including a pick-six, as the Bison fell to 5-1 after seven penalties and two turnovers.
On Saturday, UNLV defeated North Dakota State 13-7 at Allegiant Stadium before 33,516 fans, clinching a Mountain West Conference victory.
UNLV redshirt freshman defensive lineman Andre Porter scored on an early pick-six, setting the tone as the Rebels stifled a Bison offense averaging 33.6 points per game.
Bison quarterback Nathan Hayes completed 12 of 22 passes for 124 yards but threw three interceptions; UNLV kicker Ramon Villela added field goals of 29 and 24 yards.
The defeat dropped North Dakota State to 5-1 overall, marking their lowest scoring performance since December 14, 2019, while UNLV improved to 4-2.
Head coach Polasek stated, "I think sometimes you have to throw the numbers out," as the loss impacted the Bison's College Football Playoff aspirations.
