Bishop of Coatzacoalcos Will Present Resignation to Pope Leo in June

Irma Santander The bishop of the Diocese of Coatzacoalcos, Rutilo Muñoz Zamora, confirmed that on June 4, at the age of 75, he will formally present his resignation to the Vatican, thus initiating the process of succession in the southern region of Veracruz. According to the Code of Canon Law, specifically in its canon 401 §1, all diocesan bishops are obliged to submit their resignation to the Supreme Pontiff at the age of 75.
