From 2020 to 2023, the Lingener Land water association conducted a pumping test at Lengerich – accompanied by massive criticism. It was checked whether groundwater can be permanently extracted there. Now the association has presented the results.
Biologist Dick van Hoffen wants a different policy for water use. According to him, there should be a stricter look at large consumers of groundwater, such as farmers. The ban on extracting surface water is too mild, in his opinion.
