GARDEN CITY — Garden City residents have elected Bill Jacobs as mayor, the first time in decades that the city will see a new face in the city's head office position.

Ron Hanson, a current Sergeant Bluff City Councilman, ran unopposed for mayor in Tuesday's election. Hanson will succeed three-term Mayor Jon Winkel, who opted not to run for reelection.
