Anant Singh, a former MLA, was arrested with two associates after the fatal shooting of Dularchand Yadav during a violent clash amid Bihar's election campaigning, police said.
- On Saturday , Patna Police arrested Anant Kumar Singh, JD candidate and former MLA, in a late-night operation, SSP Kartikeya Sharma confirmed.
- On October 30, 2025, a violent clash erupted in Mokama Tal near Khushhal Chak and Tartar village, where Dular Chand Yadav was shot and later run over while campaigning for Piyush Priyadarshi.
- A massive police operation involving around 150 personnel targeted Singh's residence, arresting Manikant Thakur and Ranjeet Ram, while the postmortem report showed Yadav's crushed ribcage and police registered four FIRs.
- The Election Commission of India ordered replacement of Patna Rural SP and Mokama returning officer, suspended SDPO Abhishek Singh, and sought a compliance report by 12 noon on November 2, 2025, ahead of Mokama Assembly seat voting on November 6, 2025.
- Investigators say further investigations are underway and all three detained will be presented before the magistrate, while officials warned the Model Code of Conduct was violated and violence against Veena Devi, RJD candidate, continued.

Eighty people have been arrested so far in connection with the murder of Jan Suraj Party supporter Dular Chand Yadav in the Barh-Mokama area of Bihar. JDU candidate Anant Singh is among those arrested. Police have registered five FIRs so far and the investigation is ongoing. Heavy security forces have been deployed in Mokama.
