- Nepal Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal reported that an earthquake triggered a glacial outburst in Tibet, killing nearly 100 people and leaving over 750 missing, including 133 Indian nationals across the region.
- Representative Dibyajyoti Basu said the agency lost contact with the group, including two managers Jayanta Sanyal and Nripen Sarkar, after 8 am Wednesday when destroyed infrastructure hindered communication.
- The West Bengal government coordinated with the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu to assist stranded residents, opening helplines at Bhabani Bhavan: 24793311 or 9147890181 for families seeking information.
- Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari expressed anguish, stating, "I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives," as authorities continue monitoring the devastated remote border region for survivors.

"Significant damage occurred due to the flash floods along the Tibet-Nepal border. All agencies of the Nepal government--including the army, police, and armed forces, as well as INGOs and the administrative machinery--are working on this and have prioritised rescue operations," Lekhak said.
