Disneyland Moves Forward with Major Expansion Plans
- Disneyland Resort announced major expansion plans centered on Disney California Adventure, including closing the Monsters, Inc. ride in early 2026.
- These changes follow the Anaheim City Council's 2024 approval of DisneylandForward, a $1.9 billion Disney-led rezoning initiative for the 490-acre property.
- The expansion includes an Avatar-themed land replacing Monsters, Inc., two new Avengers attractions, a Coco-themed ride, and a 6,000-space parking structure starting fall 2026.
