BOWLING GREEN — After a slow start shooting from the floor, the Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team relied on frequent trips to the free-throw line and running in transition to power past the visiting Akron Zips on Wednesday, 80-62.

BGSU women’s basketball (11-9, 4-5 MAC) defeated the Akron Zips (3-17, 0-8 MAC) 80-62, in the Stroh Center, on Wednesday night, snapping their three-game winless streak. Points came from within the paint throughout the game for BG, with 44 total points in the paint. The Falcons did have to battle for those points as they were fouled continuously during the game. The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team withstood a cold shooting start, heating up in the middle two quarters to run away from the University of Akron on Wednesday night (Jan. 28). The Falcons picked up an 80-62 victory over the Zips in Mid-American Conference action at the Stroh Center.
