Beyond the ‘Shiny Bits’: Reinterpreting an Iron Age Mass Grave at Gomolava, Serbia

EPOCH Editors Aimée Wilkinson and Josh Coulthard sat down with Dr. Linda Fibiger, Senior Lecturer in Human Osteoarchaeology at the University of Edinburgh, to discuss her recently published article about her finds at the mass grave at Gomolava, on the Sava River in Vojvodina, Serbia. Fibiger’s osteoarchaeological evidence uncovered a more violent and intentional scene in the Iron Age site than initially expected.
