Beyond Meat drops the ‘Meat’ from its name as it pivots to plant-based drinks and snacks
Beyond rebrands to focus on plant-forward protein drinks and snacks after a 14% revenue drop in 2025 amid declining U.S. plant-based meat sales, CEO Ethan Brown says.
- This week, Beyond The Plant Protein Co. updated its public name and channels, dropping 'Meat' and now using 'Beyond' on its website, social media channels, and packaging.
- Facing weak retail demand, Beyond has seen falling sales as its net revenue dropped 14% in the first nine months of 2025 and shares have traded below $1 this year, Chris Costagli said scrutiny hurt plant-based brands.
- In January, Beyond launched Beyond Immerse and is testing new items online via Beyond Test Kitchen, while last summer it introduced Beyond Ground with four ingredients and plans a protein bar this summer.
- Ethan Brown said the rebrand lets the company refocus on plant-sourced foods, adding Beyond will innovate plant-forward products like chickpea sausages and faba bean strips and put them in stores.
