- Hawaii earned the top spot, with men and women experiencing similar conditions across workplace, education, and politics. Maryland ranked second, boasting the smallest gender pay gap at 1.4% lower earnings for women.
- "Ensuring women's equality requires more than simply giving men and women the same fundamental rights," WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo said. States must ensure equal treatment in financial opportunities, education, and politics.
- The United States ranked 42nd out of 148 nations in the 2025 Global Gender Gap Index, with women remaining underrepresented in leadership despite comprising more than half the population.
