Berks County Police Officer Killed in Crash While Responding to Call Friday Night
State police are investigating the crash after Officer Kristen Yeager was ejected from her cruiser and later died at a hospital.
Officer Kristen Yeager of the Central Berks Regional Police Department died Friday after her cruiser crashed while responding to an emergency call in Earl Township.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, Yeager was driving eastbound on Route 73 near Manatawny Road when her vehicle left the roadway, entered a ditch, and struck a tree.
The 42-year-old Boyertown resident had served with Central Berks Regional Police for nearly three years and was responding to an emergency assist call when the incident occurred.
Emergency personnel performed lifesaving measures at the scene before transporting Officer Yeager to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Central Berks Regional Police officials expressed deep gratitude for community support, stating Officer Yeager "served the community with courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication." Her legacy will endure.
