Award-Winning ‘Downton Abbey,’ ‘The Crown’ Actress Dies at 81
Jane Lapotaire won a Tony Award for Piaf and was honored as Commander of the Order of the British Empire last month, the Royal Shakespeare Company confirmed.

- Born Jane Burgess in Ipswich, England, she was adopted and faced a custody battle at age 13 before helping found the Young Vic around 1970.
