Bellamy uncertain over NRL coaching future amid ‘private’ health issues
Bellamy thanked messages of support but said he was focused on this week as the Storm try to end a seven-game losing streak.
On Saturday at AAMI Park, Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy thanked the league community for supporting his 'private' health battle, but declined to speculate on his coaching future for next year.
Last month, the 66-year-old revealed he was battling an unspecified neurodegenerative disorder, though specialists declared it would 'not have an impact on his ability to coach' in the immediate future.
The Storm are currently navigating a seven-game losing streak while managing injuries to Xavier Coates, Eli Katoa, and Tui Kamikamica, alongside departures of Ryan Papenhuyzen and Nelson Asofa-Solomona.
Facing the Wests Tigers on Sunday, Bellamy emphasized the team's 'family first, footy second' mentality, focusing on the immediate week ahead.
Despite recently signing a contract extension through 2028, Bellamy remained non-committal about next season, stating 'I don't know, I'm thinking about this week' when pressed.
