Bear cub killed by vehicle nearby Idlewild Campground on July Fourth weekend

A bear cub was hit and killed by a passing motor vehicle on July 5 nearby Idlewild Campground in Winter Park. At 6:06 pm, Winter Park police responded to a report of a young bear that had been struck by a vehicle on US Highway 40 near the campground.  According the the police report, when officers arrived, the cub was was running around the campground and badly injured.
