The spot fire that sparked east of McLure in the Bartlett Creek area is now being held, according to the provincial agency.

A small out-of-control wildfire was reported west of Heffley Creek on Wednesday, May 6. B.C. Wildfire Service’s (BCWS) last update was at 9:47 p.m. Wednesday, sizing the blaze at 0.009 hectares. Located near O’Connor Lake, the fire (number K20269) is suspected to have been caused by lightning. As of about 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning, BCWS has not listed resources assigned to combat the blaze.
