The Board of Directors of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) agreed to maintain the reference interest rate at 4,25 %, according to the entity after its monetary policy session after considering recent price developments, inflation expectations and the performance of economic activity, as well as external risks that could affect the economy in the country.
The Central Reserve Bank maintained the interest rate unchanged for the fourteenth consecutive month and expects inflation to return to the target range. However, it warns of risks associated with the El Niño phenomenon and tensions in the Middle East.
