Ains Reid’s fundraiser drew $7,748.60 for evacuees, with $7,000 donated in the first 24 hours after the donation link opened.

The recent wildfires in the Okanagan inspired a Lake Country resident currently living two provinces over to help evacuees from a distance. Since July 31, the Bradley Creek, Quilpituk Creek, and Bald Range fires combined have burned more than 25,000 hectares, with the majority burned at Bald Range.
