B.C. Lions Secure Playoff Spot with 41-20 Decision over Winless Ottawa Redblacks
Nathan Rourke threw for 360 yards and three touchdowns as B.C. clinched a playoff berth and improved to 10-6.
Quarterback Nathan Rourke threw for 360 yards and three touchdowns Friday as the BC Lions defeated the Ottawa Redblacks 41-20 at BC Place, officially securing a CFL playoff berth.
The Lions have won nine of their last 10 outings, while the Redblacks remain winless at 0-16 after suffering their 22nd consecutive loss dating back to last season.
Running back Zander Horvath rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns, while James Butler added 76 rushing yards and receiver McInnish surpassed the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the season.
Defensive standout Darnell Sankey recorded eight tackles while Casey Sayles forced a fumble that Sankey recovered, allowing the Lions to capitalize on turnovers and stifle Ottawa's comeback attempts.
The Lions visit the Calgary Stampeders on Saturday, Oct. 17, in a key matchup critical for securing second place in the West as they pursue a playoff home date.
