Iconic BBC Show Renewed for 2 More Series 20 Years on From Original

- The BBC has renewed the children's programme Balamory for a third and fourth series, more than 20 years after the original aired between 2002 and 2005.
- Attracting 1.5 million viewers within 28 days of its CBeebies release, the first episode 'One-Man Band' became the biggest new CBeebies episode of 2026, validating the reboot's strong audience appeal.
- Produced by Glasgow-based Lion Television Scotland, the revival features returning actors Julie Wilson Nimmo as Miss Hoolie and Andrew Agnew as PC Plum, alongside new cast members Danielle Jam as Ava Potts and Carl Spencer as Dr Ollie.
- Kate Morton, senior head of commissioning for CBeebies, said the recommission is a "testament to the enduring power of children's media make lasting memories and promote kindness, inclusion and togetherness."
- Production for the third and fourth series will take place this year for 2027 release, while series two of the reboot is scheduled to air later in 2026.
