Barn fire in Chippewa County

EDSON, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) - Animals are safe after a barn fire in Chippewa County. Crews were called out to the fire just south of Boyd in the town of Edson. According to an on-scene firefighter, when emergency crews arrived, heavy smoke was seen coming from the east side of the barn where several large hay bales were burning. Equipment was used to get the bales out of the barn so the fire could be extinguished.
