Ballon d'Or Nominees: Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappe, Mohamed Salah and PSG Stars Make Cut
ÎLE-DE-FRANCE, FRANCE, AUG 7 – Ousmane Dembélé and Lamine Yamal lead 30 nominees recognized for outstanding performances in the 2024-2025 season, including PSG's Champions League win and Napoli's Serie A title.
- On Aug 7, 2025 the Ballon d'Or nominees were announced, with Ousmane Dembélé and 19-year-old Lamine Yamal among the favourites.
- Building on club success in May, Paris Saint-Germain saw eight players nominated after Dembélé played an integral role as PSG won their first Champions League title last season.
- Mohamed Salah, Liverpool forward, scored 29 Premier League goals last season, while Kane, Bayern Munich striker, netted 26 Bundesliga goals and Palmer scored 15 Premier League goals for Chelsea last year and won the Conference League and Club World Cup.
- Representing England, four players—Bellingham, Kane, Palmer, Rice—made the shortlist, while Dembélé was joined by eight PSG teammates including Hakimi and Kvaratskhelia.
- Beyond player honours, France Football, magazine, also named nominees for the Kopa Trophy, Yashin Trophy, Johan Cruyff Award and Club of the Year, with winners announced on Sept. 22 in Paris.
