Baleba completes £70m Man Utd move from Brighton
- On Tuesday, Manchester United completed the signing of 22-year-old Cameroon midfielder Carlos Baleba from Brighton & Hove Albion in a deal worth up to £70 million.
- United officials pursued the midfielder for 12 months after initially baulking at Brighton's asking price a year ago, when the transfer nearly reached £100 million.
- During the 2024/25 season, Baleba ranked sixth among league midfielders in combined tackles and interceptions, while placing fourth for progressive ball carries per 90 minutes.
- The Red Devils' total spending on midfield reinforcements reached more than £150 million this window, with Baleba joining new signings Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos.
- Expressing excitement to work under coach Michael Carrick, Baleba described the move to Old Trafford as a "dream," while the club confirmed the transfer is subject to registration.
