- Rescuers transported the eagle to the Ojai Raptor Center early Saturday after she was found grounded near Dana Point Park. Friends of Big Bear Valley confirmed Jackie suffered an apparent 'altercation' with two subadult eagles.
- Despite her critical status, the center reported Jackie is 'alert and is eating.' FOBBV said she has shown increased energy, noting the bird 'is mad and fighting the staff,' a positive behavioral sign.
- Veterinarians confirmed X-rays showed no metal objects like fishing hooks or sinkers. The Ojai Raptor Center cautioned that 'wildlife medicine takes time' as teams await further bloodwork to determine underlying causes.
