Badbox is back and a million Android devices were backdoored

A new variant of the Badbox malware has infected nearly a million Android devices, forming a botnet, according to Human Security's Satori research team.
The Badbox 2.0 botnet primarily targets low-cost Android devices, with significant impacts in Brazil, the United States, Mexico, and primarily those made in China.
Google has removed 24 malicious apps from its Play Store and collaborated to disrupt Badbox operations, preventing over 500,000 infected devices from communicating.
Despite these efforts, many devices remain vulnerable, particularly those lacking official Google Play Services support.
