An analysis involving over 320,000 people revealed that those who have experienced severe sunburns in the past may have a higher lifelong risk of skin cancer.
A meta-analysis published in JAMA Dermatology shows that people who have had painful, blistered or severe sunburn throughout their lives have a greater risk of developing skin spinocellular carcinoma, one of the most common forms of skin cancer, says Science Alert.
