The B-21 Raider stealth bomber program is ahead of schedule, with Northrop Grumman expected to deliver the first operational aircraft to Ellsworth Air Force Base in 2027.
The US Air Force Says the B-21 Raider and F-47 Are Both Ahead of Schedule. Its B-52 Upgrade Is Running $3 Billion Over Budget.
General Dale White, director of Critical Major Weapon Systems, told an industry conference in Dayton on 3 August that both the B-21 Raider and the F-47 are running early or on schedule. The first B-21 should be on the ramp at Ellsworth Air Force Base in 2027. The B-52 modernization program, meanwhile, is $3 billion over budget.
The U.S. Air Force confirms the schedule of its most ambitious aerospace project for the coming decades.
