Aztec Minerals Corp. (TSXV:AZT) - First Step-Outs into North Extension Opens New Oxide Zone - Research Portal

Summary
Aztec (AZT) reported assays from nine RC holes from its 85%-owned Tombstone Ag-Au project in Arizona. The ~22,000m program is targeting shallow Ag-Au oxide and deeper CRD sulphide mineralization. Results include assays from the first drill holes completed at the recently acquired North Extension zone, where the first two holes both hit Au-Ag oxide mineralization on previously untested ground, with a standout intercept grading 1.42 g/t Au and 14.58 g/t Ag over 88.4m (TR26-39). A second standout came from the Contention pit, grading 1.06 g/t Au and 16.08 g/t Ag over 97.5m (TR26-38). These two holes rank among the best holes drilled at Tombstone since 2020. We view this as a positive update, and arguably the most significant result Aztec has reported in over a year. Previously, almost all of Tombstone’s growth came from the Contention zone, with the peripheral step-outs repeatedly coming back thin.

Previously, almost all of Tombstone’s growth came from the Contention zone, with the peripheral step-outs repeatedly coming back thin. These results from the North Extension zone change that, as it is the first genuinely new, oxide zone that the company has opened since the Westside discovery in early 2025. We look forward to seeing additional assays from holes completed further north into this new zone, although at this stage with two holes only, continuity and extent still need to be proven. Drilling results are expected to inform a maiden MRE at Tombstone, slated for Q4/26.
