Avon Lake designates Power Plant Beacon historical artifact

AVON LAKE – It was a bit like the old “show and tell” days when representatives from the Avon Lake Historical Society showed up to the Avon Lake City Council meeting to designate a piece of the Avon Lake Power Plant as an historic landmark. The red, aircraft warning beacon that was mounted atop the power plant smokestack was officially designated as an historic piece and will find a temporary home in the Avon Lake Public Library.
