While in the Somme the municipalities impose the wearing of the helmet for scooter drivers one after the other, the prefecture of the Oise extends the obligation to the whole department.

The Vaucluse took the step that the national law has not yet taken. On 12 June 2026, the Prefect of Vaucluse signed a decree imposing the wearing of the helmet for all drivers of electric scooters, hoverboards and gyropods in the department. It enters into force on 1 July., and the offenders are liable to a fine of 35 euros.
