The Estonian Ott Tänak remains in the lead of the Japan Rally even after the second stage and thus remains in the game for the title of world champion. However, the leader of the series, Thierry Neuville from Belgium, increased his chances of a lifetime success, because after an unsuccessful Friday he was able to move up to 7th place and on Sunday he can be world champion for the first time.
