Somerset and Hunterdon County drivers will face increased enforcement of distracted driving laws throughout April as local police join a national campaign against cell phone use behind the wheel.

Nearly 500 stops made on I-94 during statewide enforcement period last month

The results are in from last week’s statewide crackdown on dangerous driving on I-94. Michigan State Police say nearly 500 traffic stops were made from Southwest Michigan all the way up to Port Huron. Half those stops resulted in a ticket, while 34 arrests were made.
