French authorities have closed the Attaqwa Mosque, also known as the Chanteloup Mosque, in the town of Aulnay-sous-Bois, near Paris, for six months. According to the Seine-Saint-Denis prefecture, it was spreading a radical Islamist ideology that adopted the rhetoric of terrorist organizations, legitimized jihad and glorified the death of a martyr. The mosque's administrators have challenged the decision in court.
