An Austrian-Slovak couple has been arrested in Bari, southern Italy. They were wanted on an arrest warrant for allegedly illegally taking their almost two-year-old daughter abroad. The child had previously been placed in official custody.

A European arrest warrant has been issued for both and they are awaiting a court decision.
