Austria-wide action program to better prepare for natural hazards
The Ministry of Agriculture will launch a nationally oriented action program in 2026 to improve natural hazard management, the core of which will be a nationwide geo-monitoring system with a competence center in Innsbruck. The goal is to better analyze and predict natural events.
Changes in alpine terrain are to be identified early on using satellite data, among other things, and hazardous hotspots are to be identified.
