Windtech International - Victoria’s first offshore wind auction set to open in August
Victoria will launch its first offshore wind auction in August 2026, with an initial capacity of 2 GW. The Request for Tender will mark a key step in establishing the state’s offshore wind industry. The Electricity Services Entry Mechanism (ESEM), endorsed in principle by Australia’s Energy Ministers in December, provides a framework for new renewable energy projects, including offshore wind, to help Victoria meet its renewable energy targets.
