Australian police find human remains believed to be missing grandfather
Police found suspected human remains 11 days after the mistaken abduction of 85-year-old Chris Baghsarian, linked to a botched kidnapping targeting a Sydney crime-connected family.
- On Feb. 24, detectives found suspected human remains near Lynwood Golf and Country Club in Pitt Town, and forensic teams are conducting tests to confirm if they belong to 85-year-old Chris Baghsarian.
- Baghsarian was abducted from his North Ryde property on Feb. 13 by three intruders in what police call a mistaken-identity abduction; police say kidnappers targeted relatives of Dimitri Stepanyan, 37, a convicted armed robber and Proper Streetwear founder.
- Evidence linked a torched vehicle to the Dural vacant property where investigators found a derelict stronghold and forensic matches to tyre tracks near Wilberforce.
