At the end of an arm of iron between the Élysée and Matignon, Augustin Augier, a quadrennial from the Ecologists and sons of a former MoDem figure, Marielle de Sarnez, was appointed Secretary General for Ecological Planning on Thursday.
In the limbos for weeks, Augustin Augier's appointment was confirmed on June 12 by Matignon. The arrival of this ecologist, close to François Bayrou, at the head of the General Secretariat for Ecological Planning, could put the ecological transition on the front of the stage, at a time when environmental declines are taking place.
Augustin Augier was appointed to the post of Secretary General of Ecological Planning on Thursday 12 June. He was a former executive of the environmental party and was also the son of Marielle de Sarnez, a centrist leader very close to François Bayrou, who died in 2021.
