The new private estimates of inflation in August anticipate a more favourable scenario for the Government than projected in the middle of the month. A few days after the end of the period, most consultants expect the Consumer Price Index (CPI) to be around 1.5 per cent, although forecasts range from 1.4 per cent to 2 per cent.
