The Paris Special Assize Court was to try three accused on appeal for the attacks in Trèbes and Carcassonne on 23 March 2018. One of the three accused was missing from the appeal. He was expelled from French territory.
Eight years ago, terrorist attacks and subsequent hostage-taking resulted in the death of four people, including Colonel Arnaud Beltrame, who had replaced a hostage.
