The prosecutor's office is responding to disturbing reports from the Polish-Belarusian border. It concerns an attack on a Polish soldier.
Following the July 10 incident on the border with Belarus in which a soldier was injured, two investigations are underway. The Białystok-Północ District Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into possible abuse of power by the soldier, while the Białystok Military Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into assault on an officer.
On the border with Belarus, a Polish soldier allegedly fired rubber bullets at a fleeing migrant and hit him with the butt of a shotgun, Onet has learned. A spokesman for the "Podlasie" Military Task Force commented on the matter.
Media reports indicate that the Białystok-Północ District Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the events on the Polish-Belarusian border that occurred overnight between Thursday and Friday. However, the Ministry of National Defense (MON) has denied this information.
A soldier serving on the border with Belarus was attacked by an aggressive migrant; the soldier's condition is stable, but he is currently unable to serve, said Major Błażej Łukaszewski, spokesman for the military group in Podlasie.
