Allisha Gray Has 24 Points and Angel Reese a Double-Double to Help Dream Rally to Beat Lynx 91
Allisha Gray scored 24 points and Angel Reese added 11 rebounds as Atlanta erased a late deficit in a one-point season-opening win.
On Saturday, the Atlanta Dream defeated the Minnesota Lynx 91-90 in the WNBA season opener, overcoming a 19-point deficit behind Angel Reese and Allisha Gray while spoiling rookie Olivia Miles' debut.
The Lynx controlled the game for 39 minutes, building a commanding lead before Naz Hillmon sparked Atlanta's comeback with seven straight points to tie the game at 85 with 2:44 remaining.
In her Dream debut, Reese finished with 11 points and 14 rebounds, securing the victory with a game-sealing block on Emese Hof as time expired. She has 50 career double-doubles in 65 games, the fastest to reach the mark in WNBA history.
Playing without star forward Napheesa Collier, the Lynx relied on rookie Olivia Miles, who delivered 21 points and eight assists in her debut while Collier recovers from March ankle surgery.
Atlanta looks to improve to 2-0 on Tuesday against Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings, while the Lynx will search for their first win against the Phoenix Mercury in The Valley.
